Baby's Room

The baby's room is ready to go! We didn't do much in the way of decorating or painting and now that we are moving at the end of February I am sure glad we didn't.....

The crib bedding is brown and greens with trees, little owls, turtles and elephants.
If you click the picture it will enlarge and you can see the crib bedding better...

Dereck made the shelves! The pictures don't so them justice, they turned out so cute!

All the cloth diapers I made are stored in the green bins....

We found the little owls and tree figures at Hobby Lobby....They just happened to match the crib bedding perfectly.

Score! Having fun with coupons!

So as most of you know my new role as of September has been "stay at home wife" and soon will be "stay at home wife and mom." Besides monthly budgeting, I  have been working hard at learning how to use coupons to help reduce our monthly food bill! Anyway for the last month I have been clipping coupons from the Sunday paper and then once or twice a week also printing them from online sites as well as subscribing to daily blogs of other Mom's who are serious coupon clippers....

It takes a little while to build a coupon stash and I have finally started to get some pretty good deals and saving at least $5-$15 everytime I go shopping....I was really proud of myself this week and Dereck was very impressed when we went to Safeway and were able to score a 5 lb box of "cutie" oranges for FREE ($6.99 value) and then 10 boxes of Nabisco/Kraft crackers (Graham Crackers, Wheat Thins, etc) for only $5.40. So each box only cost us $0.54! Our pantry is now stocked with crackers for a while! Anyway I just wanted to encourage those of you who don't use coupons to start! It is really quite fun!

Building A Gingerbread House!

I have the best husband ever! Our Sunday afternoon fun.....This as all his idea! So I went on Martha Stewart's website and printed out all the recipes....

Cutting out the pieces with precision!

Dereck the artistic one!

I just follow directions...

The Start of our Newborn Cloth Diaper Stash

The last couple of days I have started experimenting with a few cloth diaper patterns. Once I decide which patterns I like best then I will begin an assembly style production.
Below are 3 different a patterns. From the top: Rita's Rump Pockets (made from recycled receiving blankets from yard sales) Second Row left to right: Darling Diapers Tiny Newborn, Darling Diapers Tiny Newborn (nighttime), Fattycakes Newborn.

Darling Diapers Tiny Newborn again, my favorite pattern so far.....look how tiny! Will fit a baby 8 lbs and under...
